What Is the Smart Order Router?

The Smart Order Router is Ranger’s core execution engine.

When you place a perp trade on Ranger, the SOR automatically scans all supported DEXs — like Drift, Jupiter Perps, Flash, and soon Hyperliquid — and intelligently routes your order to:

• Get you the best price

• Minimize slippage

• Optimize for fees and rebates

You don’t have to think about where to trade — Ranger does it for you.

How It Works

🔹 Example 1: Best Price Routing

Let’s say you want to long SOL-PERP with a $10,000 notional.

• Drift is quoting 67.10

• Flash is quoting 67.12

• Jupiter Perps is quoting 67.09

➡️ Ranger routes to Jupiter Perps, giving you the best execution at 67.09.

🔹 Example 2: Split Routing

Let’s say:

• Drift has low slippage for first $4k

• Jupiter Perps has better pricing for the next $6k

➡️ Ranger will split the trade: 65% to Drift, 35% to Jupiter — so your blended fill price is better than what either venue could offer alone.

🔹 Example 3: Fee Optimization

Let’s say:

• Drift has a slightly worse price, but lesser fees

• Jupiter has the best price, but higher fees

➡️ Ranger’s router factors that in — sometimes it routes to a venue with net lower cost, not just better price.

Example 4: Cross-Chain Trading via Hyperliquid (Powered by Privy & DeBridge)

Ranger doesn’t just aggregate venues on Solana. With our Hyperliquid integration, you can now access non-Solana perps directly from the Ranger interface — without needing to bridge funds or set up new wallets.

Here’s how it works:

🔹 Step 1: Seamless Wallet Creation with Privy

When you first try to trade a Hyperliquid market on Ranger:

• A Hyperliquid-native wallet is created for you automatically using Privy.

• It’s linked to your existing Solana wallet (e.g. Phantom or Backpack).

Think of it as: “one wallet to rule them all.”

🔹 Step 2: Cross-Chain Execution via DeBridge

When you place a Hyperliquid order:

• Ranger uses DeBridge to securely relay and execute your trade on Hyperliquid’s infrastructure.

• This is done without you ever leaving Solana — no bridging, no delays.

• Settlement remains non-custodial and trustless.
